I recently did an interview with Carol Thompson of the Valley News. The article will run in tomorrow's paper (11/17). I received an email from Carol yesterday (to which I opened this morning) to find out her editor's liked her story so much, the publisher would like to include me in the "CNY Women" magazine!
Oh my goodness - God is amazing!
As I wrapped up my prayer time and was set to start my morning routine and wake up my daughter I heard "Get an agent." What? I have been praying about this - to submit to an agent or to start submitting to the publishers directly. As posted earlier - I selected a publisher and have been working on putting together my book proposal. And then I feel the gentle tug only God can bless one with guiding me towards finding an agent.
When I started this journey I've said I want God to be glorified through all I say and do and for others to be blessed and help by my writing and book.
This morning's emails and message left me wondering, "Did I select a publisher so I could keep to MY deadline instead of following God's plan?" If that was the case - I hadn't meant to do it yet God knows my heart better than I (Thank Goodness!) and knew what I needed to hear.
Then if I hadn't thought it was God speaking to me about seeking an agent first - my email and Facebook postings were confirmation. Elaine Miller posted a link to an interview she did recently on http://hartlineliteraryagency.blogspot.com/2010/11/importance-of-writing-and-speaking.html?spref=tw. I always enjoy reading Elaine's posts and interviews yet as I opened the link I had those goosebumps on my arms. Hmmm....and guess what ~ her link was to her agent's page.
God is good and I'm glad He is able to correct me when I need it and I'm thankful for listening. As the book proposal writing continues so will the prayers for direction in the next step.
Today I choose to be thankful for God's correction and guidance - keeping me on His path, not my own.
Have a great day everyone!! :)
