Am I right for your event?
Since my sister's kidnapping over seventeen years ago I have rode the roller coaster of life. During the first hours, days, and weeks I only went through the motions. For months and years I simply lived, with no direction or hope. In 2004, after the ten year anniversary of Heidi's disappearance ~ my hope was restored and I was smiling on the inside and the outside.
I have met other family members affected by kidnapping through the Center for Hope, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Ride for Missing Children. There are other parents and siblings living this roller coaster and I write and speak to help them through. I've also met siblings who grieve the loss of their brother or sister due to cancer, car accidents, and suicide. I met a woman who grieves the loss of her best friend, who was kidnapped when they were sixteen years old. There are a lot of hurting people in the world - some know Jesus can heal this pain while others are still searching. I write and speak to share the hope and healing found in Jesus.
