Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

One of our vehicles is at the garage for an inspection and a repair so I bummed a ride to work from a friend this morning. She texted (hmm...does text have an "ed"?) me once in her car and before leaving her driveway. I gave Mary a kiss good-bye with prayers to feel better today. I gave Ed a kiss with prayers for a good day at work then decided to surprise my friend and wait outside. With my jacket on, hood up, and bag slung over my shoulder I ventured out and across the road so she wouldn't even have to pull in the driveway. This was a good idea but obviously not the wisest thing to do on such a windy and cold day. Regardless, I did it. As I waited to see her vehicle come over the hill my breath was taken away. You might think it was with the cold wind on my unprotected face, and you might be right, but there was something else in that wind. Peace. I listened as the wind whistled through the brown branches and pine trees. I heard their creaks as each of the mighty trees behind our house fought to stand with their roots as a foundation. They leaned side to side but not a one fell. Some branches rattled like deer antlers as the trees were forced into each other's space. Hawks chattered as they weaved between the openings, on a mission for their breakfast treat on the other side of the creek. Then silence. The wind calmed down and then nothing. Although the wind was chilling to the bone, the peace of God's love, protection, and provision wrapped around me. "Good morning Lord. Thank you." I look forward to mornings on the deck with my Bible and coffee. I look forward to entertaining friends and enjoying their company. I look forward to sharing how God answered prayer during these difficult and challenging weeks. As I keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and look forward, there is something I must remember ~ to share all God has done in my life. God blesses me each day and I continue to be amazed at his love and provision for us. Although life seems to be "happening" all around me, if you now what I mean -- I rest in the loving arms of my Heavenly Father. Don't misunderstand me, we are not at the end in the Buske house yet we are under a spiritual attack. Peter reminds us, Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8 We are on alert and know the Truth -- "The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions." Proverbs 28:1 - we too, can roar like a lion with the boldness of Christ in our hearts, lives, and home. The enemy attacks and God protects. The enemy steals and the Lord provides. The enemy plants seeds of doubt and God blooms seeds of hope. The enemy was defeated and God Reigns!! A revelation I had this afternoon was to record the ways we feel under attack so after Where's Heidi? is released, we can recount every way God answered prayer and triumphed! And share this list with others as evidence of Roar like a lion with the boldness of Christ...He is the King! |
