It was over two years ago when I started this blog and announced my goal to finish writing Where's Heidi? and seek publication. Last summer I decided to set the rejection and the contracts we declined to the side, and to join the rank of Indie Author. In August I announced the release date, April 3, 2013, the nineteenth anniversary of Heidi's kidnapping. On Heidi's birthday, September 14, 2012, I revealed the cover with a press conference and community gathering. In just over a month, our community will gather again to purchase their copy of Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey. The journey from emotional vomit to paper and the book awaiting release has been a journey in itself. A journey my mother hopes I will "write" sometime in the future. I have started working on a few other book ideas, and Mom's suggestion is one of them. I am keeping the different ideas in prayer and will probably make a decision be June and share this everyone then. For now, we enjoy the completion and upcoming release of Where's Heidi? An aspect of publishing that makes most author's nervous is sharing their book with Beta readers and reviewers. It feels as if you left your baby off to a new daycare provider, the wait can be nail biting. Thus far, the reviews of Where's Heidi? have been an encouragement and remind me of all God has done to bring each of us to the point in our life we are at. Thank you for joining us. Today, Terri Groh, shares a review on her blog, Hearts In Service. There is a direct link on the photo above and there is more information about Terri and the review on my "book reviews" page on my site. Thank you for everything each of you do! Some pray, some send notes, and others bless with Dunkin Donuts beans. Whatever your part, please know I thank God for the role you play in our journey to find Heidi. What is your favorite part of the blog tour or the pre-release activities leading up to April third this year? |
