Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

A Snow Day of OrganizationIt started with a two-hour delay this morning. Instead of getting out of bed to start the coffee, I reset the alarms (Yes, I set multiple alarms, lol) and went back to sleep for an hour. I arose with motivation to get a few things done before waking Mags and getting ready for school. My lists were shrinking and then the phone rang. It was that wonderful school superintendent calling to express a teacher, and student's, favorite words in the winter..."Snow Day!". ![]() After doing the ritual "snow day happy dance" around the house, I let Mary know who was already posting it as her Facebook status, then to wake the sleeping hubby. Of course, it is his day off and one day to sleep in, so he didn't seem to appreciate my dancing and singing around the house. After laughing at me, he said, "Can you dance your way into the living room and close the door behind you." Well...I tossed him an air-kiss and did just what he requested. Look at that, I obeyed. tee hee Mags got up for an hour or so, had breakfast and returned for an extra slumber. Hmm...what is a girl to do before the natives wake. I know...clean and organize! Yeah baby! Let the fun begin... ![]() There are advantages and disadvantages of working from home. An advantage is the you are able to stay connected with your family while working and have access to current projects when you need them. I love this and so does my family yet as the release of Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey approaches, speaking engagements are scheduled, and the lists grow ~ there are things to get done. I organize via piles, each pile represents a task. The disadvantage of working from home. Each of these said piles and lists accumulate in our small ranch home. Since Mom and Dad gifted me the antique bookcase for Christmas, an office is taking shape. Once we find a home for the beautiful piano in this newly dedicated space, it will truly look like an office. The back of the door serves as a bulletin board and calendar. Living and working from home, a small one at that, requires both organization and healthy balance. Today is a gift of time. Instead of spending 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. teaching, I am working from home. The file cabinet is being organized, the book case is organized, and the projects are to be piled accordingly. A sewing project is part of my writing tasks today, go figure, to sew is work. This is the life. I have two fulltime jobs I love - to teach and to write. The goal is to have everything on today's list complete by 4 p.m. then chillax with the family with quiet time before bed. Have a great day everyone! When gifted with time, how do you spend it? |
