Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

A surprise for me today...Yesterday I told you I had finshed preparations for Eddie Pepper's 26th birthday party - the party was this afternoon. I really wanted to be at church this a.m. so we took the food over late last night so it would all be there when the party started at 12:00 Noon, knowing we would be a few minutes late. Well...we were much later than a few minutes and we "snuck" out as the closing song was starting.
We arrived to a home full of laughter and joy - celebrating Eddie's 26th birthday. Once we said hello, set down some more things we brought with us and made our way to the food, Deb asks, "Did you see the cake?" so I circle back to check out his beautiful cake decorated with frogs. But it was the cake to the right that she made sure I notice. Since I was in Philadelphia at the GPCWC on my actual birthday, Deb ordered a cake and asked her son if he would share his birthday with me. He said yes...there was a cake, napkins, and plates with "Happy 40th Birthday" written on them. I was so excited!! All I wanted for my birthday was a surprise party (yes, thats all, lol) - and my dream came true. Who would have known - I guess Debbie, her son Eddie and my husband Ed. They didn't tell Mary for fear she would let it slip. Wise choice. I was even given a few gifts - new handmade dishclothes, a couple wicker baskets (just what I needed, lol - running joke with my husband. I LOVE baskets, he's not sure how many I "need"), a hummingbird window figurine, a note holder for my desk, and a new Bible. Amazing...the cake, plates and napkins were more than enough - but I loved the gifts too. Thanks everyone! I brought my writing bag with me but left it to the side and enjoyed an afternoon and evening of laughter, cards, and conversation with the family. A wonderful and unexpected birthday party - sneaky, sneaky. Thanks Deb, Eddie and Ed! Hoping to post tomorrow about another aspect of gardening and tomatoes and the message God gave me one day early in the planting of the garden. I had to wait for the fruit to produce to finish. :) Is your interest peaked? |
