I spent a decade after my sister's abduction going through the motions. Was I physically alive? Yes. Was I mentally and spiritually healthy? On the outside but my insides just cried most days. My greatest struggle during this time was finding a reason to live with joy, purpose, and without fear.
I saw this quote and was reminded of the wasted years of simply "being" and not living. God has blessed each of us with today. We have a choice to make. Will we live or simply go through the motions.
I choose to live! One of the best decisions I have made in my life. A relationship with Jesus ensures that to live means forever. So some of you need to make the first step to live and enjoy the life you have been blessed with. Others, you need to let go and let God so you can not just live but enjoy it.
We don't know when God will call us home but one thing I do know is this ~ I want to have been, done, and shared all God placed before me. Each of us has an array of blessings before us each morning, afternoon, and evening. It is what we do with them that determines if we go through the motions and miss the blessing or truly live and seize each one with grace and humility.
" Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."
Are you living or going through the motions?
What is one thing you could do today to help you LIVE?
Possible answers: forgive? accept?
