In 2010 I attended my first writers’ conference, the Christian Writer’s Gathering at the Delta Lake Conference Center in Rome, New York. It was a small, educational, and motivating experience. I left with an overwhelming amount of information to transform my hobby of writing into the career it is today. In 2011 I returned for another great conference but this time a friend joined me. We had a great weekend of writing, fellowship, and prayer. At the conclusion of the conference the organizer asked for volunteers to help with the 2012 event. I prayed about it and this year I joined Deb and helped as I could. This summer, July 5th and 6th the Delta Lake Conference Center will host its annual writer’s gathering during their family camp. In addition to writing, attendees also have the opportunity for morning and evening worship services, fellowship, and quiet time of prayer. One of my favorite aspects of this conference compared to a larger conference is the environment. In addition to “learning”, there is plenty of time to write and spend time in God’s presence. If you have never attended a writers’ conference, this is a small yet informational conference. If you are a veteran, you will appreciate the down time to reflect and apply all you have learned while taking advantage of the quiet time to connect and write. Below is a PDF for your viewing and to print with additional one for you to download if you prefer. Have you attended a writers’ conference in the past? What is your favorite part? If you haven’t, what aspect of a writer’s conference peaks your interest the most? As you write for God, are you ready to take your writing to the next level? A Christian Writers’ Gathering is a great place to start… ![]()
