Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

The title of this blog series reminds me of an eighties song, “The Final Countdown”, by Europe. Are you singing the first few notes and trying to figure out the rest? I was, so I’ve included the YouTube video below to save you the agony of utilizing your brain. It’s hot enough; we don’t need our brains overheating too. Okay, let’s get back to the subject at hand. In a few days September arrive. With this comes an opportunity to celebrate and remember my only sister, Heidi M Allen. Heidi disappeared on April 3, 1994, Easter Sunday, while working alone at the D & W Convenience Store located at the intersection of State Routes 104 and 104b in New Haven, New York. Heidi remains missing and we continue to hope, pray, and wait for answers to the most asked question, “Where’s Heidi?” ![]() September 14th, 2013, represents Heidi’s thirty-eighth birthday. As a family we remember and honor Heidi privately yet you have become an extension of our family, if you will. So many of you remember where you were on that tragic Easter Sunday morning when you heard of Heidi’s disappearance, others recount their hours searching through the woods and weather in hopes of locating her, and others have met Heidi for the first time through my blog or books. Regardless of why you are here today, you must know a couple things. Your remembrance, compassion, and hope are an encouragement to the family. During the weeks prior to the April third anniversary, I do a blog series to share Heidi, my sister and friend, with all of you. She will always be a precious part of our family. Blog series like that or a Birthday Bash like this September, are ways we can introduce “Heidi, the person” versus, “Heidi, the missing person’s poster”. For thirty days we will honor Heidi and remember the bright, cheerful, and outgoing young woman she was. Throughout the month there will be book giveaways, a price break, and opportunities to utilize some of your photographic talents. To keep it exciting, some might be a “one time give-away” and a couple will continue through the month with the winners announced at the end. Mark your calendar ~ Heidi M Allen’s Birthday Bash begins on Sunday. To learn more about the bash, check back tomorrow. There will be guest bloggers too! What was the last thing you counted down towards? Why? |
