Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

Have you ever experienced days that seemed to just remind you of how much God loves you? I hope you have and do. This morning my daughter woke me up as she put her bag in the front room. I startled at the sound and told her, "Go back to bed, we have school in the morning." The smile on her face was priceless. I looked at her, looked at the clock, and you know it -- jumped up and moved into hyper-mode to get this day started. I nuked last night's coffee, packed lunches while it warmed, and then turned the curling iron in hopes of turning the late-awake self to human form in time for school. My daughter smiled and laughed as it is very atypical for me to sleep in, and even more so to be the one still sleeping at 6:30 a.m. We enjoyed our short time together before the bus arrived as we went about our routines. Hers, typical. Mine, ugh. I am not a "rush" in the morning person, I like to ease into the day with coffee , reading, laundry, dishes, and basic puttering around the house. In spite of this shock to my morning and routine, it was a peaceful and fun morning. I love both of these, especially when they happen on a school morning. lol Fast forward to my lunch break. I brought my bag with work to do but decided to enjoy time with my colleagues instead of working. The only thing I did, work (author/speaking) related was check my email. The smile on my face as I read an email from the editor of Believer Life: Believers Encouraging Believers' magazine. I looked to my friend and said, "Do you know how good God is? I know you do, and so do I, but He still takes my breath away and amazes me." There is nothing I've done or said to bring this blessing, yet God chose to bless me anyway. What is the news you ask? Believer Life Magazine will include Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey in their April issue. Wow! Thankful for the way God works in our lives. Only He knew how a book give-away would open this door. Thank you Marion, Hope, and Ramsey. As if the day couldn't get any better, God blessed me with a book review this Monday. Author, J.A. Zilske (for a link to her books, click on her photo above), shared her review of Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey with her readers. Thank you Jody! There is a direct link to Jody's review on the "Book Reviews" page too. If Gram's saying, "So goes Monday, so goes the week." is true - I better hold on to my hat and keep my eyes focused on Him. I read a verse from second Peter this morning that left me in awe -- I am humbled, thankful, and blessed -- never expecting the way God would "show" this verse to me today. Glad my eyes, ears, and heart are open. "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. Have you experienced a day like this before? Will you share? |
