One Sister's Journey...
Our pastor, and then our guest pastor this past Sunday, both mentioned fear in their messages. I'm noticing a theme in the messages on Sunday morning, and in the verses I've read during my quiet time. With God, there are no coincidences, so I'm taking a deeper look into myself...what am I afraid of?
I can think of a few things that increase my heart rate, some out of anticipation and others due to anxiety. Am I not trusting these situations and things to God? Probably not if I'm experiencing fear. Someone once told me that fear is a sin and a sign we aren't trusting God. Ouch! Right? With this in mind, I'm going to focus some attention to why these verses and conversations on fear are interrupting my thought processes and days, and if a lack of trust is at the root of the problem then I'm diving into the Word to restore the necessary hope, assurance, encouragement, and strength necessary to trust God in ALL things.
"So don’t be afraid. I am here, with you;
don’t be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, help you.
I am here with My right hand to make right and to hold you."
