Happy National Day of Prayer! President Harry S. Truman and our United States Congress established this precious day in 1952 through a joint resolution. People of all faiths join on the first Thursday of May to pray for our nation. A nation built on Christian principles, praising and worshipping God. To learn more about this national observance, click on the photo above. Is prayer a part of your daily life? Is it simply a blessing over the food on your table each night? Do you avoid prayer at all costs? Regardless of your current prayer life, I would like to challenge you to set aside a few moments to pray for our country today. Will join fellow Americans and beyond to pray for our leadership, the people, and our future? God hears our prayers and answers. He ALWAYS answers. God might not always say yes but He does answer, even it might be a “no” or “not right now”. He sees the bigger picture and we need to trust Him. Will you trust God with a simple prayer today? I hope you will. If you are looking for an opportunity to come together with others in prayer, check your local newspapers. A lot of churches and organizations host prayer services in honor of this blessed day. A freedom many do not have in other countries. Exercise your rights and enjoy some sweet time with God in the process. ![]() How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:1 ![]() Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
