~ Mary (Hogan) Searles ~
This was a statement I heard often, especially on the mornings I'd stop to say good morning to my Gram after having the weekend off. Gram's philosophy was it was up to each of us to determine how our week would progress. Of course we can't control what happens or how thing will play out BUT we do have a choice in the attitude we have in each situation. If we start Monday with a "Is it Friday yet?" mentality, then it will be a long and miserable week. So instead, start the week with a "Thank you Jesus for the week ahead of me. Thanks for the breath in my lungs, my family, friends, and the blessings you have set aside for me. It is going to be a great week with my eyes fixed on you."
Attitude has the power to transform our outlook, our day, and our week. The song below was one of my favorites in the 80's and my mother will probably remember it well. I played it EVERY Monday morning while getting ready for school during my high school years. This song got me pumped and singing into my curling iron between curls.
What helps you kick-start your week with a positive bit of energy? Will you share?
