Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

Remembering Heidi Seeman on Her BirthdayOur Heidi, Heidi M. Allen was kidnapped and remains missing since April 1994 in New Haven, New York. Heidi Seeman (above) was kidnapped in August in 1990 from San Antonio, Texas. What do these two cases have in common? It is because of the heart, determination, and inspiration of Heidi Seeman's family that provided our family with assistance, only a few days into our Heidi, (Heidi Allen's) disappearance. Not only did Heidi Seeman's family expand their "Heidi Search Center" after their daughter's kidnapping and murder, they extended hands of hope across the country to us when we needed it most. Their precious Heidi's body was found twenty-one days later with her kidnapper still on the loose. Our Heidi remains missing with one kidnapper serving a twenty-five to life sentence. Both named Heidi and both missed by their families. The "Heidi Search Center" in San Antonio continues to offer assistance to families of missing children with nearly a 92% success rate. In addition to aiding in the search and providing support for the family in the initial moments after their child goes missing, there is an educational piece to their center. They have transformed their tragedy into good to help others. One of the families they helped, was ours. Rick's expertise was a blessing and his compassion, motivating. Thank you all so much! Over eighteen years later I contacted the center because I wanted to talk about Rick and his time with us, so I wanted Heidi's parents blessing and permission. After a couple emails to the center, my phone rang with Mrs. Seeman on the other end. It was a precious conversation and I was blessed more than she might know. To be part of the family of a missing person unifies us, some things need not be spoken, even over the phone ~ it is simply understood. As they remember Heidi Seeman and celebrate what would have been her 34th birthday today ~ will you join me to share words of encouragement for her family and the center's volunteers on this most difficult day. If you have memories of Rick's time with us and would like to share, this is wonderful too. Thank you everyone! Happy Birthday Heidi!
