Our TOP's Tuesday are a time to remember Heidi, the "Tower of Power", as she was called during her high school volleyball times. With the new year brings a new attitude or maybe it is more accurate to say, a more public and positive attitude. In less than ninety days, you will be able to read the book you've heard about, listened to, and enjoyed via the blog and my speaking engagements. In less than ninety days, I will spend an April 3, exposed. The first decade following Heidi's kidnapping I hid within the walls of my house from the world. Once I returned to work, April 3rd, became one of my personal days so I wouldn't need to leave the house. Instead of interacting with people, I laid on the couch watching old home videos that intensified the tears and grief. Then, after realizing God never left me, or my sister ~ I started to get out. To step outside my comfort zone meant I needed to trust God and others. A long and slow process but one that needed to be taken that way in order to be prepared for whatever God had for me in the future. I wonder...is this what God was preparing me for? Only He knows. The next eighty-plus days will fly by and before you know, before I know it...I'll be signing books at a mystery location and the River's End Bookstore on April 3, 2013. I'm not hiding in the darkness anymore...let His Light Shine. Have a great week...we are sliding down a swift hill into God's love and leading. ![]()
Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey
A Day of Updates ************************* After spending vacation knocking items off my many to-do-lists and consolidating the leftovers into a new list ~ I returned to school with feelings of accomplishment, confidence, and peace. When we do what God called us to do and in His strength, not our own, anything is possible. This is an exciting year for our family. Instead of dreading April 3, the nineteenth anniversary of Heidi's disappearance, we look forward in anticipation ~ an anticipation for the release of my first book, Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey. In the past, a new year meant another year without Heidi. Spring meant another year without Heidi. This year, both represent the year I share Heidi and the effect of her kidnapping on my life with readers across the globe. What's new? Joyful anticipation! What's new since last week: *I joined the world of "pinning" on Pinterest - there are "Follow me on Pinterest" buttons on the blog and review pages *I have six confirmed reviews scheduled as part of the blog tour - see the book review page for dates, blogger, and link *A fabulous time of fellowship with the women at Fulton Alliance this past Saturday was a blessing *The Christmas decorations are down and returned to their festive red and green totes until November *Operation organization revived the house To see a complete listing of scheduled reviews, author notes, and author interviews on this tour ~ visit the "Book Reviews" page on this site. http://www.lisambuske.com/book-reviews.html
