This past May was the annual Ride for Missing Children in the Mohawk Valley, and Rochester. Our family attended the ride in the Mohawk Valley. I have downloaded all the pictures but haven't started to edit them, hoping to accomplish this task over the long holiday weekend. In the meantime, let me tell you about a second ride, the Ride of Hope.
Around fifty riders left the New Hartford Recreation Center on the Saturday morning after the RMC, so 100 miles on Friday then mounted their bikes for another 600 miles over the next week. A bicycle ride/mission to Alexandria, VA, to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's headquarters. Their mission...to raise awareness and present plaques to the center on behalf of the center in the Mohawk Valley. Look at this team of beautiful, inside and out, selfless individuals.
The first photo is of "Team Heidi". This Ride of Hope started twenty years ago, the first ride in honor of Sara Anne Wood and in hopes of establishing a New York Branch for NCMEC. Ten years later, cyclists mounted their bikes in thanksgiving and to honor Sara and all our missing and exploited children. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this ride, one every ten years. Our family is honored to have a team riding for Heidi, such a blessing.
