As the weekend approached, I had plans to attend New York State Missing Person’s Day in Albany all day today with a speaking engagement tomorrow at the Fulton Alliance in Fulton, New York. On Friday afternoon, I busied myself to prepare for both traveling to Albany Saturday and last minute preparations for Sunday. Generally, I don’t take a change of plans well but I’m getting better. Due to circumstances out of my control, I didn’t make it to Albany. While my heart was sad because we wouldn’t be there, I had a sense of peace about it too. I slept over twelve hours last night and woke up feeling better than I have in a week. I was able to enjoy some extended quiet time this morning and extra prayer time for tomorrow’s speaking engagement. ![]() As I write today’s blog at 10:55 p.m. I realize I’m not sure how I would have been ready for tomorrow if I had left my house at 4:45 a.m. and returned around 10:00 p.m. It wouldn’t have happened and most likely, I would not be as prepared for tomorrow afternoon as I am now. God is the King of all. I believe this includes our schedules. Thank goodness, He closed the door of travel and opened a door of preparation and prayer because I feel rested and ready for tomorrow. ![]() Today’s photos reminded me the message I will share tomorrow. With God as our foundation, we can get through anything. Right now, these foundation blocks don’t look like much BUT with the proper tools, supplies, and effort…they will develop into something far more beautiful than I could imagine. God can do this with our lives too when He is our foundation…we will more than we ever dreamed to be. Thank goodness. |
