As a child, to see the display of wrapped gifts created butterflies of anticipation in my stomach. And just when Heidi and I didn't think it could get any better, Christmas morning came and the gifts multiplied while we slept. Some gifts made us shout with joy, some made us blush, and others brought tears to our eyes. Regardless of the gift, an emotion was connected to each one after the wrapping paper was removed and the gift revealed. I still look forward to Christmas morning but with duel anticipation. Of course, I still love to see the gifts beneath the tree and to speculate what each might have hidden within the wrapping but now there is a gift I open every day. The gift of Jesus. Christmas is more than material gifts, these are just the "above and beyond" of Jesus' love for us. The Ultimate Gift, one we can receive on any given day of the year, is Jesus. Once we invite Him into our lives, He leaves His Holy Spirit to live in our heart to help us through each day. Salvation is a free gift and you only need receive it once yet if we are growing in our faith, we can unwrap it each day. There is a Bible verse that talks about God's goodness is new every morning. If our eyes and heart are closed then we won't see all the wonders God places before us each day. Some days might be more difficult than others but with our hope in Jesus and not in the stuff, the day is going to be easier than without Him. Have you unwrapped the Indescribable, Inexpressible Free Gift of a relationship with Jesus? He is the Gift that keeps on giving and is available 24/7. You don't need to wait until Christmas morning but if you haven't welcomed Him into your life ~ it seems as if there isn't a better time than during this most blessed time of year...Christ Mass! "Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]! 2 Corinthians 9:15 AMP Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; |
