I pray you spent some time reflecting on the gifts of Christmas past and present that meant the most to you. Some of my favorite Christmas gifts were the ones given, not received.
God GAVE the Indescribable and Inexpressible Gift to us on Christmas morning. He did this because of His great love for ALL people. He gave His Son, Jesus, to be born a human baby, knowing Jesus would need to suffer a death on a cross later in His life. Could you give your only child if you knew He would die? I couldn't.
Heidi and I were blessed little girls and young ladies. Heidi was robbed her adulthood at the hands of her kidnappers. I spent more than a decade living in the pain and grief of this horrid loss. Today, I choose to celebrate life and cherish each moment and memory made. We don't know what tomorrow (or even five minutes from now) will bring but thank God, we know Who brings each tomorrow.
I unwrapped the Indescribable gift of Jesus in the Fall of 2004, shortly after the ten year anniversary of Heidi's disappearance. I don't claim to have all the answers but I know Who to lean on when I have questions.
I encourage you to lean on, trust in, and look to God this Christmas season. He gave his Only Son to be born a babe, knowing He would suffer a horrific death of a cross. BUT thankfully, Jesus rose from the dead three days later, on Easter!
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
