I assist in a Kindergarten class room and when we ask the kids to write a story in September, it is all pictures. A couple may be able to formulate words, but the majority are illustrating their stories. This is writing and telling a story. As the year progresses, thy start to label their pictures by sounding out the words and by June, they are writing a couple sentences that tell the story with their picture.
Today's writing challenge is fun, you don't have to write any words. Instead, I want everyone to write a story like a Kindergartner just starting school, you can only use pictures. If you MUST label, it's okay, but challenge your brain and hands to draw a story. Include details so others can tell your story.
I am writing (drawing) a story too and will share it on tomorrow's blog. You get to write the story, using your words, to tell my pictures story. I like to mix it up and keep your brains thinking. If you have a drawing and want to share it with me, I'm on Facebook, One Sister's Journey Keeping it Real, @LivinwithLisa. With parent permission, I can share your illustration on a future blog and maybe I'll write a story to go along with your picture. Doesn't that sound like fun? Happy writing!

Alright kiddos, are you ready for today's prompt?
This page is a way for me to connect with students, share my passion to write, and hopefully instill this same passion in them as they learn at home.
Feel free to share this page with the kiddos who might need a little extra motivation to write.
