I cannot wait to read the book. We will never forget! I wrote about Heidi today on my fundraising pagehttp://www.active.com/donate/syracuse2012/ABessel1"
Andrea writes:

Last year I found this ride to be the most rewarding charitable event that I have ever participated in. Sponsored by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children/New York (NCMEC/NY), the Syracuse Ride for Missing Children is a 100-mile ride made by bicycle riders or "Friends of Missing Children" that raises funds to support prevention education programs and to remember all missing children. As some of you may know on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1994, 18-year-old Heidi Marie Allen went missing from my hometown. I remember being a 14 year old kid..."

Older sister keeps memories of Heidi Allen alive

By JANAY BURKE
Staff Intern Published: Friday, April 1, 2011 7:01 PM EDT
"For two weeks, Lisa Buske, Heidi Allen’s older sister, has reminisced about the little girl whose ear-to-ear smile flashes in almost every photo posted in her blog. In her March 21 post, Buske wrote, “She might be a New York statistic today, but from 1975 to 4/3/94 ... she was a living, breathing and precious part of our family.”
From Christmas to birthdays to the simple times shared in their grandmother’s home, Buske reintroduces Allen to those who only know her as the girl abducted from a convenience store 17 years ago. The photos come from an album that Allen gave to Buske as a wedding gift. “I’m allowing people to get to know who Heidi was,” Buske said."

Today's CNY Woman - my first magazine interview

In January of 2011 I did a follow-up interview with Carol Thompson of Scotsman Press for Today's CNY Woman magazine. My first interview was in the Fall of 2010 for an aritcle in the Valley News. This was a blessed experience and God was glorified through Carol's writing, Kim's photography and Cammi's layout. I hope you will take time to read the article, on page 20 - 21.

I have been blessed with my first radio interview. On December 1st, 2010 my voice echoed on the radio with an interview with Kevin Schenk. I was told it was scheduled to air between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. every half hour. I listened to the first one as I prepared for work that morning. I was more nervous than anticipated so was thrilled the news story was as wonderful as it was. Thank you Kevin!

It's a notorious missing person case from the '90s that still haunts Oswego County and now it could become the subject of a new book. Heidi Allen, 18, was kidnapped from a New Haven convenience store in 1994 and her body was never found. Her disappearance resulted in a pair of trials that ended very differently. Allen's older sister is putting together a book about the case and as our Andy Mattison tells us, she hopes the book will not just help with the investigation, but with anyone missing a loved one.
