Keeping it Real...Welcome! No matter how you found this, God knew you'd be here today. May you absorb the message He has for you. In 2011 I shared through my writing, today I've learned there is more to me than just writing. I have the energy and passion to share with others. Sometimes through Facebook live and others with my blog and most importantly, I've learned my passion to cook and bake is a vessel to share my writing and live presentations, while glorifying God in the process. I just needed to let go, and follow His lead.

This photo and Scripture verse is from earlier in the Spring as Mags and I enjoyed a beautiful walk. We took photographs of flowers for my recent book, YOU are a Rainbow, and of course had fun playing in the shadows. It was one of few beautiful, warm, and sunny days as Winter decided if it wanted to leave or not. I was being silly (I know, you're not shocked) and our daughter captured a few pics of me and my shadow playing together. I sang songs from Peter Pan and everything. It was much fun. A few days later, the photographs were downloaded and we looked at them and this verse from Psalm 23 came to mind. Mags came up with the caption to "dive in" because this is what it looks like to her, and verse four from this well known Psalm popped in my head. At the time, I simply created the blog in my draft folder because I wasn't sure of its direction, or connection for that matter. With this past week's current events, I'm trying to get back to some routine and post my blog daily. My brain is still foggy so I decided to check what type of drafts were waiting and looking for some TLC to develop into a blog to share. I saw this, smiled at the memories from that day, and then smiled after reading "Even though I walk through the valley", THROUGH! God used a photograph and Scripture verse tucked away a couple months ago to remind and encourage me today. For more than twenty years, Heidi's family, friends, and community have "walked through the valley" each and every day. Heidi has never been forgotten and remains on so many people's hearts and daily prayer requests. While recent news has heightened the discussion of her disappearance and the case itself, it's also renewed and strengthened the hope for all involved. Heidi remains missing and we remain hopeful. The days, weeks, and months ahead are going to stir up emotions, alter lunch conversations, and darken the valley we are going through BUT we all need to remember, the Bible says we go "through". So when you are feeling down or a little hopeless, look up. God is steering this ride and with hope in our heart and so many people praying...God will answer prayer. He always does. It might be yes, no, or not right now...but He is faithful to answer. We need to be faithful to continue to pray and wait for His answer. "Be persistent in prayer, Don't Give Up...God knew the valley was coming |
